| Q. Where is the Help File? |
| A. | Privacy Killer is so easy to use, that we have decided not to include a manual for it. You could however just hover your mouse over an item, and you will see a ToolTip displayed, giving you information about the item. |
| Q. Where can I report problems regarding bugs & issues? |
| A. |
Although Privacy Killer has been thoroughly tested to make it as
error free as possible, if you encounter any problems, then please
let us know by e-mailing the problem in detail to:
support@privacykiller.com Please include as much information as possible about the problem, such as: When it happened, what actions did you take before the problem occurred, and the error location. |
| Q. How long does it take to get my RegPK Licence Number? |
| A. |
Once your order is accepted, your will immediately receive your
RegPK Licence Number. (Please allow up to 1 hour for email delivery.) |
| Q. How long does it take to get my Activation Code? |
| A. | Once you have received your RegPK Number, you could then apply for an Activation Code by starting up the Registration Wizard and selecting the Step 3 Option. It is a simple process. Fill in the required fields with your details and follow the on screen instructions (make sure your details match with the ones when you purchased Privacy Killer). Upon your final stage, you would receive your Activation Code immediately if the registration process has been successful. | Q. I have more than one pc, do I need multiple licences of Privacy Killer? |
| A. |
Yes. When you purchase Privacy Killer, you are given a single
licence, meaning that Privacy Killer can only be installed and used
on a single machine. If you wish to use Privacy Killer on a
second computer, then you would have to purchase another licence at
a 25% discounted price and Activate it from that machine. Please contact us for more information regarding this at: info@privacykiller.com |
| Q. Lost Registration Info? |
| A. |
If you are a registered user and for whatever reason you cannot
find, have lost or have not
received your Activation Code within a reasonable amount of time (24
hours for credit card payments), please send us an e-mail to:
register@privacykiller.com Once we receive the request, we'll try to sort out the problem as soon as possible. (Please include you RegPK No, Name and E-mail and as much order information as possible, as it will be easier for us to track down the order.) |
| Q. Refund Policy? |
| A. | Once Privacy Killer is purchased, refund can be made ONLY if you haven't obtained an Activation Code. If you have your Activation Code sent to you, then no refund can be made. That's why we provide you with a 15 Day Trial period of Privacy Killer. |

| Q. How do I install Privacy Killer? |
| A. | Having downloaded the setup file from here, all you need to do is save it to a quick location such as your Desktop, so that you can access it later. Once the download is complete, then just double click on the setup file (privacykiller_setup.exe) and follow the on screen options. |
| Q. What Operating Systems does Privacy Killer work with? |
| A. |
Fully tested with Windows 2000/XP/Vista. Privacy Killer is NOT compatible with Mac or Linux Operating Systems. |
| Q. Does Privacy Killer work on 64Bit Operating Systems? |
| A. | Yes, but only Privacy Killer v2 and above. |
| Q. Do I need to be an administrator to install this? |
| A. | Yes. Normally it is not possible to install new applications unless you have administrative privileges. |
| Q. How do I Uninstall Privacy Killer |

There are 3 ways of Uninstalling Privacy Killer from your computer.

| Q. Do you provide free technical support? |
| A. | Yes, we provide technical supports to all of our users. We will respond to your e-mail within max of 72 hours. |
| Q. Does it clean all the user accounts on the computer or just the current account? |
| A. | Privacy Killer only cleans the current Users history. |
| Q. Do I have to pay for future updates? |
| A. | No. All future updates & upgrades are free to registered users of Privacy Killer. |
| Q. Why has Shredder shredded a file, but hasn't deleted it? |
| A. |
This is probably because the file was in use while Privacy Killer
attempted to Shred the file. Please make sure no other application is using the file whilst it is being shredded. Note: As of version 2+, Privacy Killer can automatically detect if a file is being used by another person or program. You will need to set this in the Preferences Menu: Options>Preferences>>Shredder Settings>>File Access Settings |
| Q. Why cant Shredder shred my file? |
| A. | This may be because the file is in use by another person or program or the file you are attempting to shred, has Unicode or Wild characters. You would have to manually rename the file by either pressing the F2 button from the explorer window or right click on the file and select the Rename option. |
| Q. What is Boss Key? |
| A. |
A Boss Key lets you hide/show windows. An example would be hiding your Browser window. It's very useful when you are surfing on a website and someone (your boss or everyone else you don't want looking at your screen) walks in. By pressing the Browsers Boss Key (Default: ALT + Space Bar) it will immediately hide/show all Browser windows (Internet/AOL Explorer, Firefox, Netscape, Opera and Safari). The same can be used for IM
(Internet Messengers) such as: AOL, ICQ, mIRC, MSN, Skype,
and Yahoo. |
| Q. What is Stealth Mode? |
| A. | Stealth Mode allows Privacy Killer to operate in the background in an invisible mode. Stealth Mode can also be described as an all in one Boss Key. Instead of pressing all the HotKeys individually, you can press the Global Panic Boss Key (Default: Win Key + F5) to hide/show all Browser windows, IM Messengers and Privacy Killer itself. |
| Q. What is Privacy Locker |
| A. |
Privacy Locker is a manager which stops all user activity.
Your screen gets locked and can only be unlocked if you enter the
correct password. (Default being empty) (Can be changed within Privacy Killer: Options>Preferences>Application Settings) The main advantage of this manager is that many computers are not password protected when the computer is started. Many users do not apply a password to their system, so that even when they Log Off, anyone can still access their account. Whereas Privacy Locker disables all user activity, so that no one can mess around with your files while away from your desk. |
| Q. What is Anti-Homepage Hijacker? |
| A. |
Some websites may try to modify and change your Browsers Homepage by
changing the URL. Privacy Killer features a protection that
will continuously monitor for any changes to your Homepage. If
it detects and attempts to modify the homepage, it will alert you to
confirm, allowing you to approve or disapprove any changes.
Note: This only works for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. |
